THE BOLD DIRECTION

A production dedicated to African storytelling with global reach

The Hassan Cole & Company is a Paris-based film and television production studio founded by Ghanaian filmmaker and sustainability professional Nana Antwi Owusu-Ansah. We develop African-origin narrative fiction films and documentaries for global audiences, anchored in sustainable storytelling and built to compete at the highest international level.

Our Mission

To produce films of enduring global relevance that hold their ground at the highest levels of international cinema, driven by sustainable conviction and made without creative compromise.

Our Vision

To become the defining pan-African film studio of our generation, producing internationally celebrated films that reflect the full complexity of African life and advance a more just and sustainable world.

The Hassan Cole & Company is committed to building a creative ecosystem where African stories are developed with integrity, productions are run with fairness and respect for every person involved, and the communities we work within benefit meaningfully from our presence. Sustainability is not a label we apply after the fact. It is embedded in how we work, who we work with, and what we choose to make. Our work is anchored in six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and that commitment shapes every project we greenlight, every partnership we enter, and every decision we make from development through to global exhibition.

We believe African cinema is not a niche. It is a canon in the making.

Our Approach

At The Hassan Cole & Company, every decision we make, creative, operational, and commercial, is rooted in sustainability. We do not treat sustainability as a footnote or a marketing position. It is the architecture of everything we build.

We develop our slate by working at the intersection of four deliberate pillars:

01.

African Creative Talent

We source, develop, and champion storytellers, writers, directors, and performers whose work originates from the African continent and its diaspora, ensuring that the stories we tell are owned and shaped by the people who lived them

02.

European Production Infrastructure

Operating from Paris, we leverage France’s world-class production ecosystem, co-production treaties, and public funding frameworks to give African stories the resources they deserve

03.

International Festival Networks

Every project is developed with a clear festival strategy, positioning our films for the platforms where world cinema is discovered, debated, and celebrated

04.

Global Film Distribution

We build distribution pathways across theatrical, streaming, and broadcast channels that ensure our films reach the widest possible audience without sacrificing creative integrity

This structure allows us to maintain deep cultural authenticity while competing at the highest international level. We hold ourselves accountable not only for the stories we put on screen, but for how we produce them, who we employ, how we treat them, and what we leave behind in every community we work within.

Sustainable storytelling is not what we do alongside our work. It is our work.
